8. Lesson Guides
Students develop brainstorming, reporting, interviewing, observation, investigation, group collaboration, design and other skills using the Safe Routes to School Lesson Guides (walk.ohio.gov). There are three sets of guides that are age and grade appropriate (K-2, 3-5, 6-8), and align with Ohio Department of Education’s Ohio Academic Content Standards. Lessons cover math, science, writing, speaking and listening, and incorporate walking and bicycling safety. The lesson guides can be integrated into the annual curricula of specific grades, whole schools and/or entire districts.
