Frankfort - Walking, Biking & Reading

A common issue in Ohio today is school districts closing schools in the center of town and rebuilding them on the outskirts of the community. This completely changes the walking and bicycling dynamic for students. The Village of Frankfort faced this issue in 2002, when they relocated their school building from a location in town to one approximately one mile outside of town. A recommendation in their STP was to install a pathway along County Road 550, running from the school site to the library in town. In 2010, ODOT awarded SRTS funds to build the path. It was completed in 2011.
