A Dash Cam Video Recorder is an easy-to-use high-definition driving recorder. The models we have available through our equipment loan program have a 2.0” LCD
display. The cameras capture the entire road and include GPS for detailed time and
location data, pinpointing exactly where and when the recording was made.
A Road Safety Audit or a Roadway Sign Inventory are examples of activities where your agency can utilize the camera.
The dash cam captures
video detail in both bright and low-light conditions (great for daytime and nighttime recording for Road Safety Audits). Mount the camera to your windshield and record
your drive in 1080p. The dash cam records in
a continuous
loop, using the included microSD card. By default, the device immediately starts recording video when it turns on, and it continues recording until it is turned off. If the memory card is full, the device automatically deletes the oldest unsaved video to create space for new video. You can save a video recording to prevent it from being overwritten or deleted.
Play back the footage right on the display or review later, on your computer directly from the microSD card. The video recordings can be downloaded by your agency prior to returning the dash cam and microSD card. Alternatively, if your agency needs the videos downloaded for you, LTAP can download them and email them to you through our file sharing system. For more information on how to use the dash cam, please watch the video provided below.
